Driver Essentials 

This comprehensive DCPC Training course will ensure drivers acquire a full understanding of EU and domestic drivers' hours, working time, competent Tachograph record keeping covering both analogue and digital use, plus vehicle checks
 and defect reporting.

Safe Loading, Health & Safety, Fuel Efficiency & Drive Safe

This course looks at raising awareness of the rules and undertakings that apply at the workplace in respect of Health and Safety and vehicle loading, highlighting issues that can alter the Health and Safety of a driver whilst carrying out their daily duties. The training course will also examine the need for fuel efficiency, the savings that can be achieved and examines safety issues which present themselves on the road.

Emergency First Aid at Work for Drivers

Get 2 courses in one! This DCPC training course is mainly practical and gets you the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, PLUS it will count towards your 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training. Covering....

Course content includes...
  • Unresponsive and breathing
  • Unresponsive and not breathing (including the use of an automated external defibrillator/AED)
  • Having a seizure
  • Choking
  • Bleeding heavily
  • Suffering from shock
  • Burns.

It also includes information on:

  • Dealing with an emergency:
    • Assessing a casualty
    • Monitoring a casualty
    • Where to get help
    • Electrical incidents

  • Control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).

Important information

The ID requirements for Driver CPC Periodic Training have been amended to allow drivers more flexibility when attending courses. Before any training session starts, approved centres must check and evidence that all drivers have provided proof of their identity; they can do so using any of the following forms of photographic ID:

  • a photocard driving licence
  • a valid, in-date passport
  • a digital tachograph card
  • a driver qualification card (DQC)

Within the framework of the DCPC there is no end test or examination is required. On completion of your 7 hours training, we will register your attendance with DVSA to ensure you accumulate the required number of Periodic Training Hours.

Conflict management 

Drivers can face difficult encounters with employees, colleagues, clients and the public which, if not handled properly, can have serious repercussions for their company. This conflict management course will equip the driver with handy tools and techniques for dealing with differing situations, giving you the confidence and understanding you'll need for effectively managing difficult situations. You'll learn how to effectively communicate whilst ensuring a positive outcome.

  • Asserting and reducing risks in conflict situations
  • De-escilcating conflict in emotive situations
  • Good practice following a conflict situation

This course helps you understand that changing what you do, what you say and how you say it will create changes in another person. You will learn:

  • How communication can be used to solve problems and reduce the likelihood of conflict
  • The factors that influence human responses in conflict situations
  • How to assess and reduce risks in conflict situations
  • How to communicate effectively and de escalate conflict in emotive situations
  • Good practice to follow after conflict situations
